Eight months of consistency… 'BOOM'

Firstly, I hope the title of this post isn't taken as a genuine 'boom'. Anyone who knows me will know my feelings on such behaviour! lol.

As the main European leagues draw to a close for another year I thought it was a good time to make a quick post reviewing the season and the progression of the Goal List.

Since starting in October 2012, the list has featured over 600 selections and achieved consistent goal averages every month, the blog has had over 70,000 visits, two honest and detailed reports totalling 62 pages have been written investigating trends and profitable angles and we have now given report buyers access to a the ‘Goal List Prep spreadsheet’ which uses poisson calculation to allow for some nice additional pre game research.

I’m not aware of any other blog or website which has done so much to help those who want to take their betting or trading to the next level by giving them the tools to improve themselves rather than just drop selections into their inbox (nothing wrong with this by the way if that’s the way you want to go about things).

It has been a hell of a journey this season and I’m immensely proud of the achievements so far. From the very start I have tried to do something different to the thousands of other's out there and i'm so glad that so many have recognised that and bought into the Goal List idea.

Just a few nice stats: the highest scoring Goal List match this season was the 7-3 between Arsenal and Newcastle on the 29th December. But along the way we’ve seen two 5-4’s, five 5-3’s, a 6-2, a 6-3, a 7-1 and a 7-0… the list goes on! This month alone we’ve had 11/45 selections (24%) go over 4.5 goals.

Of course those who have purchased the Goal List report will know that profits can be made even in the matches that aren’t goal fests. And I also know that many of those who chose not to buy the report(s) have nailed down their own profitable approaches to the selections and that’s great too. More power to you guys!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A bit of housekeeping, a few people have asked about the average price for over 2.5 goals for Goal List selections. It is understandable as anyone can see that goals are expected if the odds are 1.30 etc… So here is a quick table showing the average odds for certain goal markets in Goal List matches over the 600 game sample:

Goals
Average price
Over 2.5
1.71
Over 3.5
2.77
Over 4.5
5.23

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The reason for this post is really to explain what is going to happen now the main European leagues have finished. The following ‘summer’ leagues already have selections in the Goal List

  • Sweden - Allsvenskan
  • Sweden - Superettan
  • Japan - J1 League
  • Finland - Veikkausliiga
  • Norway - Eliteserien

The intention is to continue posting selections over the summer months in all of the above leagues.

The nature of the Goal List selection process means we need to wait until a few games have been played so selections will be posted starting Saturday 1st June. Until then I’ll be having some much needed time off :-)

If you have any ideas for improving the Goal List or would like to see anything added for next season I really would love to hear them. Please drop me an email at thegoallist@live.com I reply to everyone.

The Second Goal List Report

What's it all about??

It’s been a while since I’ve made a post on here but that is for good reason! My personal trading is now busier than ever and over the past few months I’ve been anchored to my desk.

The Goal List selections have continued to be posted on the selections page and now the time has come for the second instalment of the Goal List Report.

The Report is a detailed document analysing almost every imaginable trend from the Goal List selections over a six month period in order to help you get the most out of the selections by devising your own approach.

I hope those that got themselves a copy of the first report found it useful and have developed some profitable angles for the Goal List selections. It was certainly the most detailed and in depth sports trading document I have ever seen on the internet and I think it probably did a good job in helping some less experienced trader’s see the level of hard work that you need to put in to become a consistently profitable sport’s trader.

The second report is shaping up to be around 35 pages long and over 7000 words. It’s more detailed and more informative than the first and the larger sample size allows for much more accurate trend spotting.

Volume 2 has been co-written by myself and Ronnie of @iFootballTIPS fame. I'm sure by now you have seen his blog and fantastic extra analysis of the Goal List selections, so it was a no brainer for me to ask Ronnie to come in for the second report and it's resulted in a much improved final product.

So what’s in the second report?

  • The second Goal List report is laid out in a very similar fashion to the first so there is some continuity.
  • It features data from all six months of Goal List selections since inception in October 2012 (494 selections)
  • All the emerging trends identified within the first report are followed up to see how they have performed over the following three months from January-March 2013 (some with very exciting and healthy results!)
For example, you might want to know:
  • What would the profit/loss figures look like for backing over 3.5 goals in each of the 53 Premier League matches to feature on the Goal List since October 2012?
  • What percentage of first goals came in the first twenty minutes of the match?
  • If the score is 0-0 at Half Time in a Goal List match, what trends are there for the second half?
  • Which are the best performing leagues in the Goal List sample for over 3.5 and 4.5 goals?
Etc…Etc…Etc… There really is too much to put in one post. Those that purchased the first report will probably know what I mean!

What’s NEW?!

Volume 2 of the Goal List Report features an all new strategy section where we are able to break down some figures and trends to assess profitability of a variety of strategies over a six month period. Both novice and experienced traders are always told to test a strategy over a three month period. But very few people do (for a variety of reasons). Well volume 2 of the Goal List Report does this testing for you. And not for three months… for SIX months!

Also new is the second half stats section. Thanks to the tireless hard work and analysis of Ronnie (@iFootballTIPS), the Goal List database now includes the time of EVERY goal scored in the match (previously only the time of the first goal was recorded). This exciting development means we can really dig into the second half statistics like never before and gives us some fantastic new options!

A good trader is a trader with ideas. The stats and analysis contained in this report will feed you ideas and hopefully help you develop you game!

We're just dotting the I’s and crossing the T’s on the new Goal List Report but are hoping to release it tomorrow morning (Tuesday 9th April 2013). Once it is fully complete, there will be more information and  a full list of contents on the Goal List Report page.

Please also look out on Twitter for any further updates!

Extra Goal List Analysis - @iFootballTIPS

This weekend was a good one for goals, we had a 3-3, a 3-2, a 2-2, two 5-1’s and a 4-1. Hopefully followers of the Goal List have lined their pockets accordingly... But of course we know from my last post that you don't necessarily need a bucket load of goals to profit from the list!

Regular readers will know that extra research on the Goal List selections is always advised, and I just wanted to write a quick post to thank Ronnie (@iFootballTIPS on twitter) for his fantastic efforts at putting up some extra ‘Goal List Prep’ on his blog over the weekend. I certainly recommend having a gander ---> iFootball Betting Blog

The information presented showed goal expectation, goal time expectation and correct score distribution statistics. For each match, the five most likely scores are highlighted. And from 13 matches this weekend, the following eight results conformed to the correct score analysis.

Heracles v PSV (AUQ)

Den Haag v Roda JC (2-2)

Bristol City v Ipswich (2-1)

Frankfurt v Hoffenheim (2-1)

Hannover v Wolfsburg (2-1)

Galatasaray v Besiktas (2-1)

Barcelona v Osasuna (AUQ)

Volendam v Almere (2-1)

The information on Ronnie’s blog proved extremely useful for my own trading over the weekend and has given me food for though going forward (as if I needed any more!).

It will be particularly useful for the more advanced traders who may be trying out the correct score trading method outlined in the Goal List Report. Good luck with your trading folks, and remember, you can never have too much information!

Build yourself a winning approach!

January has so far been a barren month in terms of goals. With some leagues harbouring a Christmas hangover and others still enjoying winter breaks, it’s all been a bit disjointed. The good news is that as of this weekend we are pretty much back to normal with the return of the Bundesliga and the Holy Grail (in Goal List terms) of Dutch football. Hopefully the month will pick up from here.

Those that have already purchased the Goal List Report will have the profit and loss statistics for backing over 3.5 and 4.5 goals broken down by month AND by league. They will also know that I do not yet advise backing overs in every single Goal List selection even though it has proven consistently profitable over a three month period (296 selections).

I also know that many of you are using the data presented in that section of the report to build your own over/under betting and trading models which, in my opinion is a fantastic idea and something I will certainly be looking at myself in order to increase strike rate and profits. However, the real point of this post is to highlight the fact that you do not need a bucket load of goals in every match to profit from the selections on this blog.

No goals, no profit?

Despite the Goal List being a selection system for matches which ‘should’ produce goals, it doesn’t mean if there is a dry spell we are destined to lose money. It’s all about finding a strategy and an approach which suits your style of betting or trading.

I have a lot of messages asking me how I trade the Goal List selections. The truth is, it varies depending on my additional research. But I do have one method which is a simple, three step procedure. I know it is profitable in the long term and so it’s easy to stick to the rules without letting emotion get in the way. And best of all? I only need one goal in a game to be able to take a profit.

'Why don't you tell us?'
In order to protect my edge, I can’t simply paste this strategy about in messages or on this blog. Yes, plenty do sell systems and strategies but you show me a guy selling a detailed account and step by step process of a ‘fool proof’ betting or trading strategy and I’ll show you a liar who is robbing you in broad daylight, selling a strategy that will, without doubt lose you money. I am aware that these last few lines are pretty commonly heard, but I hope you can see that I really am trying to do something different with the Goal List and I hope it helps.

In my opinion, if you really want to be successful in sports betting or trading, you need to be able to think for yourself and understand how you can gain an advantage.

What I am trying to do with the Goal List is give you all the information you need to create your own edge using the data contained in the Goal List Report and the selections on the blog.

The Goal List Report is strewn with trends and extra statistics along with bullet point ideas on how you might begin to build a winning strategy of your own.

You can grab a copy of the 'Goal List Report Vol.1' now for just £20.00 by clicking on the ‘Buy Now’ PayPal button on the right hand sidebar at the top of this page.

Why am I releasing this report?

When I started this blog it was my aim to provide sports traders and in play bettors with a model and selections that allowed for a wide variety of approaches. The detailed analysis in this report and future reports will simply add more pieces to the puzzle and help you get more out of the Goal List selections going forward. It will also serve as an important reference point for the next three monthly report due at the beginning of April 2013!

Why am I charging for the report?

Simply because over the past three months I have spent an enormous chunk of time on the Goal List selections and recording every fixture into a database. This report alone is also likely to take upwards of 25 hours to complete.
